Doug Henning was a Canadian magician, illusionist, and escape artist born on May 3, 1947. He is credited with reviving the public’s interest in magic in the 1970s with his Broadway show “The Magic Show”. Henning was known for his exuberant personality, distinctive style, and for blending magic with theatrical performance. He also starred in several television specials and was nominated for a Tony Award. Henning passed away in February 2000.
