Protul Chandra Sorcar, known as P. C. Sorcar, was an Indian magician called the “father of Indian magic” for helping popularize the art in the 20th century. His elaborate shows incorporated exotic animals and elaborate props. One of his most famous tricks was sawing his wife in half on stage.
